Atlantic Pavilion
The refurbishment of a Grade I Listed Building into 80,000 square feet of fully air-conditioned office space. The design incorporated a comfort-conditioning floor-supply system, utilising swirl diffusers, so that the brick-arched ceilings could remain exposed, without a suspended ceiling.
As with the nearby Maritime Museum, all of the engineering services and their associated ducts, risers and plant rooms were required to be contained within the existing building envelope. Suspended integrated lighting rafts were used throughout combining services such as fire alarms and personal address systems with lighting. The scheme included extensive use of basement areas for plant – including a diesel generator -, as listing of site placed severe restrictions on external plant enclosure sizes.
We have undertaken a number of further development schemes to the site since the original scheme to allow multi-tenancy occupation.
