St James’ Theatre

Ernest Griffiths undertook the design of the mechanical and engineering services associated with a new 330 seat theatre, cabaret space, restaurant and bar in Westminster, London. Of particular interest is that the two performance spaces are located deep below ground level.

This has necessitated careful consideration and planning of the engineering services to enable the development of a detailed, integrated design which has been achieved through extensive consultation with all other members of the design team; with particular focus upon the location of plant and equipment and the provision of supply and exhaust air paths from these deep, sunken spaces to the outside.
