Quarry Bank Mill

We have been appointed by the National Trust for the provision of Consulting Engineering Services in connection with the planned refurbishment of the original Gardener’s House, Glasshouse and Walled Garden and Mill Building.

These buildings are Grade II Listed and the works are being developed through the widest of consultation with various Client representatives, local Conservation Officer and English Heritage. Archaeological investigations have identified features of the original hypocaust underfloor heating system in the Glasshouse and consultations were held to identify how best these features can be incorporated and/or displayed in the refurbished space.

The works include upgrading the engineering services in the Gardener’s House and the provision of new services in connection with a new café and retail space.
