New build of a four-storey arts building on this prestigious school site in St John’s Wood, London.
The upper floors of the building are all naturally ventilated using a cross-ventilation scheme with exposed concrete soffits to provide additional thermal mass for cooling. Daylight to the building is maximised with large windows to both principal elevations for the above-ground studios and a glass-covered lightwell to the lower ground floor where specialist rooms such as pottery and photography are housed.
The building links to the main school via a below-ground corridor through the adjoining Pool and Fitness Building.
